Recipe by Katelyn Williams

Serves 8 – 10

"I call this an LBD cake because, just like that little black dress in your wardrobe, it’s a classic that can be dressed up or down. It’s simple (only four ingredients) yet sexy, and whether you dust it with cocoa powder or bling it up with chocolate twirls, it will wow everyone, every time.'

250 g (250 ml) salted butter, at room temperature
375 g 70% dark chocolate, chopped
440 g (550 ml) white sugar
7 large eggs, at room temperature

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C for fan-forced).Grease or line a 20-cm round cake tin.Place the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over a medium heat until melted and warm. Remove from the heat and add the dark chocolate. Stir until melted. Whisk in the sugar and eggs.Pour into the prepared cake tin and bake for 35 to 40 minutes – it should be barely set with a bit of a wobble in the middle. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely (it will fall and crack a little). Remove from the tin and decorate as desired.
