
Nolac Crispy fish and chips with Nolac tartar sauce
Serves: 3-4
Cooking time: 20 minutes
For the fish
3-4 Hake Fillets (or fish of choice)
2 cups flour
Salt and lemon pepper
1 Cup Nolac maas
1 tsp baking powder
¼ cup corn flour
Oil for frying
For the tartar sauce
1cup dairy free mayo
½ cup Clover Nolac dairy snack, plain
2 pickled gherkins, chopped
2 tsp fresh sill, chopped (optional)
1 tsp lemon juice
Method
Season 1 cup of flour with salt and pepper. Dip each fish fillet into the flour and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the other cup of flour with the, baking powder, corn flour and Nolac maas. Season with salt and pepper and mix well to combine. The batter should not be too runny.
Dip each coated fish fillet into the batter and place into heated oil. Fry for a few minutes until golden brown and the fish is cooked through.
Place onto paper towel to drain excess oil and mix together tartar sauce ingredients.
Serve crispy fish chips/wedges and sauce.
