Today it is the hero ingredient in a simple, zesty sorbet recipe to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings with a vitamin C kick!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 cup Krush Carrot and Orange juice
Juice of 1 lemon
Zest of 1 lemon
Pour the water and sugar into a small sauce pan over medium heat.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then simmer for 5 minutes. This will create a syrup which you then transfer to a container and refrigerate until cold.
Zest a lemon – use a vegetable peeler if you don’t have a zester and chop up the zest a little. Then cut the lemon in half and squeeze out all the juice. Add the lemon juice and zest to your syrup. Once everything is cold, pour the syrup/lemon mix and the 1 1/2 cups juice into your plastic container. Place the container into the freezer and remember to churn (stir) with a whisk or spoon every 20 min. This helps reduce the amount of ice crystals making for a much smoother texture.
You can now indulge in your delicious, fresh sorbet.
Store the remaining sorbet in the freezer for up to one week
