Fry’s Hungry Monster Pasta

Recipe by Fry’s

Serves 2
Cooking time: 30 min

Ingredients
30ml  cooking oil
½ box Fry’s No-Meat Balls
¼ cup onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 can tinned tomatoes

250g wholewheat spaghetti, cooked

2 tbsp black olives, pitted
4 tsp Vegan mayonnaise
Salt and pepper

Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a splash of olive oil

Method
Prepare the Fry’s No-Meat Balls using on pack instructions and set aside.
To make the tomato pasta sauce, turn on the stove, and add a little bit of olive oil in a pot.
Add the onion with a pinch of salt and cook until it becomes soft, after about 3 minutes. Then add the garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the can of tomatoes to the pot, and stir everything together. When the sauce starts to bubble, lower the heat and cover the pot. Continue cooking for about 15 minutes.
Gently add the No-Meatballs to the simmering pasta sauce. Let everything cook for about 5 minutes until they are heated through. Cook the pasta according to packaging instructions.
Decorate pasta into the shape of the monster’s body! Add two No-Meatballs to form monster’s body. To complete the monster eyes, add a dollop of mayonnaise topped with a sliced olive, peppercorn or sesame seed. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve!
Save any leftovers for lunch or freeze them!

Chefs tips
Make sure you follow the on-packet cooking instructions for all Fry’s products, to ensure maximum enjoyment and flavour!
Creating excitement and fun around eating is a great way to get the kids involved, and more willing to try new things. Keep your kids busy, and let them help prepare this recipe – just watch out when it comes to using knives, or the hot stove.
We’ve used wholewheat spaghetti, but you could easily swap it out for your favourite pasta of choice. This will also be delicious served as a sub, or used as a sauce for lasagne.

Freeze any leftovers for a quick and tasty meal!
