
Fresh Milk Cheesy French Fry Bake

Serves: 4-6
Cooking time: 35-40min
Ingredients
500g French fries
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
500ml Clover fresh milk
1 cup mixed cheese, grated
3 tbsp chives, chopped
2 tbsp jalapenos, sliced
¼ cup mushrooms, fried
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp chilli flakes
To serve:
Tomato sauce
Mayo
Method
Preheat oven to 200C
Bake French fries until slightly golden
If frying, heat oil to 175C then drop fries and cook until slightly golden.
Remove from heat then place in container lined with paper towel. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, make your white sauce starting with butter then adding your flour once it has melted.
Cook the mixture to remove the flour taste then gradually add the milk until the sauce is smooth and runny.
Add cheese to the sauce a little at a time to make sure sauce isn’t too thick.
To assemble: fill an ovenproof baking dish with the seasoned fries, scatter the mushrooms and jalapenos generously then pour in the cheese sauce.
Gently fold together then sprinkle with chives and chilli flakes then baked for 6-10 minutes.
Serve hot with sauces of your choice.
