
Clover Nolac Oats Two Ways
Savoury oats
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp olive oil
½ onion, chopped
¾ cup oats
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 cup water
1 cup Nolac Full Cream fresh milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Toppings
Sauteed spinach
Sautéed mushrooms
Soft boiled eggs
Avo, sliced
Sliced spring onions
Hot sauce for drizzling
Half lemon
METHOD
Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add the oats and garlic and stir to coat in the oil, then add the water, Nolac Fresh milk and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the oats are thick and creamy but still have a slight bite.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat and portion into bowls. Top with the sautéed vegetables, eggs, spring onions and avocado. Serve with drizzles of hot sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Sweet oats
½ cup oats
1 cup Nolac Full Cream Fresh milk
1 tbsp honey
½ tbsp. chia seeds
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla essence
Berries for garnish
Chopped nuts and seeds for garnish
METHOD
Add the oats to a pot and pour in the Nolac Fresh milk. Sprinkle in th chia seeds, cinnamon, vanilla essence and honey. Place onto a medium heat and stir to combine. Bring to a very light simmer for 7-8 minutes, stirring in between to prevent sticking as it thickens. If too thick, add more Nolac milk. Once cooked, spoon onto bowls and top with fresh berries, nuts, seeds and a drizzle of honey.
