Clover Caramel Dumplings

1½ cups of cake flour
2½ t baking powder
¼ t salt
¼ cup sugar
3 tbsp margarine
¾ cup Clover Good Hope Soy Milk
50 g walnuts, chopped

1½ cups of sugar
2 tbsp margarine (made of veg oils)
Pinch of salt
2 cups boiling water


Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.

Add the butter and rub it into the flour mixture with your fingers.

Add the soy milk and beat with a wooden spoon until it is just well combined. Stir in the nuts.

Heat half a cup of the sugar over medium heat in a large saucepan until caramelized.
Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.

Scoop spoonsful of the dough into the boiling syrup. Cover tightly with a lid. Lower the heat and cook for 12 minutes (do not open during the cooking time).

Serve warm with custard, ice-cream or cream
