Clover Butro oil,  American Chilli

Butro American Chilli 


Recipe by Tebo and Lebo
60ml Clover Butro oil
2 onions, chopped
500g lean beef mince
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tsp paprika
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground coriander
2 red chilli’s deseeded and finely sliced
2 T flour 
300ml beef stock
x1 tin chopped tomatoes
x1 rin red kidney beans, drained
3 T tomato puree
1 tsp castor sugar
1 tsp dried thyme
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper
Heat the butro in a non stick pan 
Saute onions for 1-2 minutes
Add the mince and cook until browned
Add the garlic, paprika, cumin and coriander. Fry for 1-2 minutes. 
Stir in the chilli and flour ,giving it a thorough stir and slowly add the beef stock whilst stirring. 
Next add the tomatoes and draied beans. Stir in the puree, castor sugar, thyme and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens. Adjust the seasoning and serve over some rice.
