Clover Bliss Chocolate Croissants
Recipe: Daleen van der Merwe
Serves: 12
Preparation: 20 minute plus 45 minutes standing
Cooking: 18—20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
Dough
1 kg ready-made white bread dough (bought)
cake flour, for dusting
1 egg yolk
1 Tbsp milk
Filling
300 ml Clover Bliss Medium Cream Chocolate Dairy Dessert
To serve
200 g chocolate, melted
METHOD
Croissants
Roll the dough out to a rectangle of 20 x 100 cm on a surface that has been lightly dusted with flour. Cut the edges straight.
Using a pizza wheel of sharp knife, cut triangles with a base of 12 cm. Start at the base and roll the triangles up to form croissants.
Place the croissants on a greased baking try. Wisk the egg yolk and milk together and brush the croissants with the egg wash.
Leave in a warm spot for 30—45 minutes until the dough has risen to almost double in size.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Bake for 18—20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
Transfer the croissants to a wire rack and let it cool down.
Filling
Spoon the Clover Bliss Chocolate Dairy Dessert into a piping bag. Make a small hole at the bottom of each croissant and pipe about two tablespoons of the chocolate dairy dessert inside each. Drizzle the croissants with melted chocolate.
