Clover Bite Size Apple Pies

Clover Bite Size Apple Pies

Serves: 8 (16 bites)

½ cup sugar

2 tsp cinnamon
1 packet (400 g) short crust pastry
3 Tbsp melted Clover Classic Fat Spread, divided
2 medium tart apples, each cut into 8 wedges (skin on)
ice-cream or whipped cream, to serve

Preheat the oven to 220 °C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, set aside 1 tablespoon.

On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pastry. Brush with 2 tablespoons of the melted butter, sprinkle with the sugar mixture. 

Cut the pastry in 2.5 cm wide strips. Cut the strips in 20 cm lengths. Wrap one strip of pastry around each apple wedge, placing sugared side of pastry against apple.

Place on the lined baking tray. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with the 1 tablespoon sugar mixture. Bake for 13 – 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
