Classic Lattice Apple Pie with Clover Classic Custard
Serves: 5-6
Baking time
5 Granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
½ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla essence
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
Milk for brushing
Clover Classic Custard for serving
Preheat the oven to 200C
In a bowl, mix together the apples, sugar, flour, lemon juice and spices.
Place one sheet of puff pastry onto the bottom of a greased pie dish and spoon in the filling.
Roll out second dough disk on floured surface to 13-inch round. Cut into twelve 1-inch-wide strips. Arrange 6 strips across pie. Form lattice by arranging 6 strips diagonally across first strips. Gently press ends into crust edges. Brush lattice with milk. Sprinkle lightly with additional sugar. 
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown in colour. Slice and serve with a generous dollop of Clover Classic Custard
