Bottle and Balloon Experiment 

WHAT YOU NEED

½ cup vinegar
500 ml empty plastic cool drink bottle
1 balloon
bicarbonate of soda
funnel

METHOD

Pour the vinegar carefully into the bottle (don’t use the funnel).
Pulling the balloon slightly open. Then fill just more than half full with bicarbonate of soda, using the funnel.
Place the balloon’s opening over the neck of the bottle. Let the balloon hang to the one side to prevent the bicarbonate of soda spilling into the bottle.
Now lift the balloon up so that the bicarbonate of soda pours into the bottle.
Shake the bottle a little and see hoe the balloon blows up – magic!
