Zola Nombano
Zola is a South African actress, from the Eastern Cape best known for her role as Shado, a streetwise teenager, in the second season of the SABC1 drama series Intersexions, in 2013. It was her first major acting role.
Despite the attention she gets as a well-known television thespian, she believes she is still grounded because she enjoys spending her holidays at her grandmom’s place in rural Matatiele in the Eastern Cape.
In one interview she said “My home is in Umthatha, I can be a typical city girl and the next moment I am a rural village girl as I cherish both worlds equally.”
Zola studied at Victoria Girls High School in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape.
After high school she left the Eastern Cape for Gauteng to study dramatic arts at Wits University, she has a honors degree in dramatic arts.
In an interview she did with Sowetan it is stated that “her father was reluctant to let her study drama, but with this role he can see that acting really is my passion. I cannot wait for my family, friends, classmates and fans to experience my talent.”
In 2015 she landed a leading role as Constance Dladla (Conny D) in film on Mzansi magic alongside Aubrey Poo of Isidingo, Schelaine Bennet, Ziyanda Yako and Anelisa Phewa.
