Yola Mgogwana
Today we chat to 12 year old Climate Justice Activist Yola Mgogwana who strives to inspire others to save the environment and shares her knowledge at school ensuring more students learn and become aware of climate changes.
A student at a Primary School in Khayelitsha, Mgogwana’s journey as a climate activist began when she recognised the environmental change in her community. She’s since connected with Earthchild Project - a Non Profit Organisation that offers complimentary education to under-resourced schools with a focus on the environment, health and self-development - and has joined a global climate strike and marched to Parliament, where she appealed for justice and demanded environmental policies.
Mgogwana joins us to discuss the work that she’s doing as well as its significance.
