Rising-star musician, Tyler Page, was discovered and signed by alt-pop record label Bad Future through her social media posts of her mesmerising vocal and ukulele covers, in mid- 2020.
As of December 2021, she is signed with Warner Music South Africa. The 20-year-old vocal powerhouse has released multiple singles that have garnered national, and international attention.
“It’s been crazy. It doesn’t even feel like any of this is actually real. It’s overwhelming, but a good overwhelming – and super exciting,” says Tyler.
“I am very grateful; I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity. I have my parents and friends support behind me. I just don’t even have the words to describe the feeling, it’s really good,” she explains.
Tyler’s parents are her number one supporters. “If I wasn’t good at singing my dad would literally say ‘Tyler, you’re not good. Like, don’t chat to me. You need to go to university.’ But they’ve been amazing.”
Her popular single ‘WAGMI’ was released earlier this year. The catchy pop song’s music video has over 80 000 views on YouTube.
‘If It Wasn’t 4 U’ is her latest single, which she performs live on AEX. “The song is about this person that kind of takes all the badness out of you. You know it hurts to change… But in the long run it’s good for you, and it betters you as a person,” she says.
“You can relate to it in any way. You can think of it as a person, or a god, a friend, parent, sibling, anyone. Anyone can relate to it, that’s why I think it’s super special.”
Tyler’s EP, ‘GAME OVER’ was just dropped a few days ago. “I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Each song has its own vibe. I’m just excited for people to hear it,” she gushes.
