Toya Delazy
Joining us today is South African singer, pianist, dancer and performer from KZN Latoya Nontokozo better known as Toya Delazy, who now resides in Paris.
She has released her new self-produced single “Find di boy”. The song is about expectations vs reality and accepting your journey wholesomely, she states. Before lockdown hit, she was busy with her Afro Rave project a genre she created which is a synthesis of Zulu Rap, bass and dubstep. Afro Rave celebrates the movement of alternative African music.
A lot has changed in the music industry since lockdown hit, not being able to go out for shows and to perform. Toya however believes that being home and having that space has taught her so much artistically.
