TJ Ngoma
On today's show we talk to male model and body activist, TJ Ngoma.
Ngoma, like many others, struggled to break into the modeling industry. He approached agency after agency yet kept getting the same response, "there's no market for you in the modeling industry". The persistence however paid off when Ngoma was scouted at a recent “PlusIsEqual” Fashion Campaign, which saw Ice Genetics launching a plus-size men’s board - featuring none other than Ngoma himself as their first fuller figure male model.
Growing up Ngoma was always teased by family and friends. This had always bothered him and caused him to have self-esteem issues but he's managed to rise above it. Ngoma has learnt to now love himself and his body, and has since become passionate about body positivity issues and promoting self-love. So much so that's he's now using his social platforms (which he enjoys spending time on) to inspire and motivate others.
This however is only one facet of Ngoma who has more to his talents. He's also a trained actor and has starred in local SA TV series and films.
