South African Actor – Tabile Tau was born on the 20th of May 1999. Born and raised in Cape Town, the 23-year-old is the second eldest son of six siblings. Acting is not Tabile’s only accolade - he is a part-time model, and one day aspires to be a presenter.
Tabile also known as Tabie by most of his friends, found his love for acting in High School. He attended The Settler’s High School where he initially took drama, but later dropped it, deciding to rather explore art and music.
Tabile rekindled his passion for theatre in 2014 when he was cast a Romeo in his school’s reimagined play of Romeo and Juliet.
After high school, he decided to further embark on a career in acting. He studied at AFDA from 2017-2019. His focus was in screen-acting. During his time here he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the AFDA Graduation Festival.
After graduating he pursued his career and signed with StarQuality Management, and this is where his professional acting career kicked off. His first debut role was in Pinky Pink on Showmax.
He then carried on playing a young Abednego on BET’s first African Telenovela.
After a few months of exposure, Tabile was offered a role in one of South Africa’s most watched soapies on SABC 1 - ‘Generations: The Legacy’. He played a character named Bonga, who quickly became a fan favourite. Fans started referring to him as “the spoilt brat who shot his crush”.
Tabile’s other crediting roles include Showmax’s feature film ‘Goodbye Gogo’, ’The Station’ and ‘Grootboom & Sons’.
Tabile currently has various projects in the works but as to what these projects may be we will have to see.
