Tashreeq ‘Ricky vani Frontline’ De Villiers
Rapper and Performing Artist
10 years ago, Tashreeq De Villiers’ life was completely down in the dumps but after taking one chance by the hands, he is now a 2x Fleur De Cap nominee, a Performing Artist and Rapper. He joins us in the loft to chat about how he turned his life around to become a success in the performing arts and music industries.
Born and raised in Woodstock, his love for entertainment started at a young age when he started dancing for his uncle’s Minstrel Team at the annual Cape Town Minstrel Carnival. An avid singer in school, he soon started performing at the Annual Coon Carnival as a Juvenile Sentimentalist.
Unfortunately, life took a turn for the worse and Tashreeq found himself getting involved with the wrong crowd. He however, turned his life around and began acting in theatrical performances including ‘Satin to Sequins’, ‘Aunty Merle, The Musical’, and ‘Danger in the Dark’. Last year, he started working on his first solo album.
