Tarryn Tomlinson
Joining us in studio today is business woman, life coach, social activist and published writer, Tarryn Tomlinson who’s one of the people who will be embarking on a 5-day journey to summit Kilimanjaro on 2 March 2020 in a wheelchair. Her goal - to raise much needed funds for the Sigi Children’s Centre in Tanzania.
The Capetonian developed Rheumatoid Arthritis during her final year of high school, which then spread throughout her body and within 18 months of diagnosis had her using a wheelchair.
During her final year of high school she developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. It quickly spread throughout her body and within a year and a half she needed to use a wheelchair.
This changed her life completely but Tarryn hasn’t allowed her wheelchair to hold her back, and in fact has worked hard at using her mind productively to overcome her challenge and still reach her goals. When asked what her one piece of advice would be to others trying to achieve their dreams Tarryn responds “My biggest piece of advice to others is that when we clear our minds of our negative conditioning, we clear the path to focus only possible solutions and we open a world of possibilities regardless of the endeavour we hope to achieve”.
Now those are powerful words we can all learn from and live by.
Don’t miss Tarryn’s full interview today at 5PM, only on SABC3.
