We chat to inspirational mom and blogger Simone Blackenburg, who’s blog helps others deal with tragedy and the loss of a loved one.

The 35 year old Simone, has lived a life filled with tragedy like very few before her. Simone lost her mother at the age of eight, due to a car crash, and she would then have to look out for her younger brother and sister who were 6 and 3 at the time. When she was 23, she was informed that she had cancer-malignant melanoma and had to under go cancer treatment until she was in remission. By the time that she was 29 however, the cancer returned and this time she had to have 3 surgeries and 6 months of radiation. The cancer caused its damage to her ovaries however, a Simone was informed of how she she would not be able to have kids.

She got married at 31 and miraculously fell pregnant with her first child, her son Murry. She would then again fall pregnant, 7 months later after having him. At 7 months old, her baby daughter Isabella asphyxiated on her own vomit in her cot, and they were unable to revive her. In May 2016 her son Thomas was born, unfortunately he was born 26 weeks early. Sadly hee only managed to live for a few hours before passing away.

Now Simone and her husband have a started a blog, which at first was a tool to help them through their greving process but now they discovered that they can use it to help others who have experienced loss, specifically that of a child.
