Shady-Lee Dreyer and Blake Evans
We speak to Shady-Lee Dreyer whose 12 year old son was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome at the age of 8.
Blake struggled in school to stay focused and finish his assignments, he would get easily distracted in class, not completing tasks in the required amount of time and that resulted in him being highly discouraged and not wanting to participate in anything. His parents decided to take him for a full check up and the report advised that Blake has a concentration problem and should be assessed by a Paediatrician. His eyes would rapidly go into one direction and then come back to normal, which was something he couldn’t control.
Shady-Lee and her husband did a lot of research and went to the doctor again who then diagnosed Blake with Tourette's syndrome. They felt so devastated, but knew that they had to be there for him through a long and hard journey.
