Second Chance Trust

We meet the Founder and Program Facilitator of Second Chance Trust, Jarryd Smith, as well as Program Facilitator Blake "The Champ" William to discuss their latest fundraising campaign. It will see them auctioning off the “Famous Springboks Painting” by contemporary and fine artist Chaz Williams.

Second Chance Trust is a public benefit organisation that was founding in 2012 to help make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by social ills.

The organisation specifically strives to empower children and youth to make wise life choices through knowledge and skills development efforts. One of their goals being to decrease gender-based and domestic violence, substance addiction and abuse, gangsterism, as well as bullying in their communities.

A strong contributing factor to rebellious and often dangerous behaviour among children and youth in South Africa is the need to fit in and be accepted, which leads to peer pressure and deviant behaviour.
