Sasha-Lee Laurel Oliver
Joining us in studio today is our newly crowned Miss South Africa, Sasha-Lee Laurel Oliver. She will be discussing her excitement for the 2020 SUN MET as well as her new title.
Crowned Miss South Africa on Woman’s Day August 2019 where she assumed the title after Zozibini Tunzi. She stepped into this role with gratitude and grace. She believes that her prime purpose as Miss South Africa is to dedicate her time into helping woman, and men who are victims of abusive. She works tirelessly to support survivors of sexual abuse. She herself endured years of sexual assault. As a marketing and psychology student she has devoted her life to make woman, children and men aware that they are not responsible for their abuse. She is part of the Beauty with a Purpose campaign also known as #itsnotyourfault.
Born in Johannesburg in a working class suburb, Sasha-Lee has refused to let humble beginnings prevent her to pursue her dreams. She is inspired by powerful woman who have faced adversity and succeeded in spite of it all. Her promise to herself and the world is to use public platforms that Miss South Africa provides to bring comfort to woman, and men who are survivors of sexual assault.
