Rafeeqah Vallie and Yazeed Ryklief

We chat to couple Rafeeqah Vallie and Yazeed Ryklief, who gave birth to their beautiful twin babies during the global pandemic.

It was their first pregnancy and Rafeeqah wanted a natural birth with her husband by her side. This however could not be done due to the pandemic and the restrictions put in place by hospitals across the country. Her pregnancy was also high risk because the one baby did not have sufficient placenta. What was supposed to be the happiest time of their lives was then filled with stress and uncertainty.

Her babies are still in ICU today and her husband has not seen them as Rafeeqah is the only one allowed in. They share with us what this journey has been like for the both of them.
