
Phat Joe
We test out media personality Phat Joe’s culinary skills as we put him to the test, for this week’s cook – a – long. Majota Khambule A.K.A. Phat Joe, became popularly known on South African screens during his runwith The Phat Joe Show, in the early 2000’s, and a long standing radio career. He became a household name yet again when he became the host of The Real Goboza.
The Pretoria born Joe was raised in the USA and spent his child there, studying at the University of North Carolina before attending the University of Cape Town and University of South Africa. Although he may sometimes end up in hot water for being a bit controversial, he is known as one of the most respected media personalities, whether it be on radio or on television, Joe seems to take centre stage.
Phat Joe is currently working, as the returning host of new season of the former SABC 1, dating show, Take Me Out Mzansi, which has now moved to a different channel. The show’s concept is that, a one player is introduced to a panel of 30 potential dates, and try to persuade them to keep their lights on, so he or she can choose one.
Joe has also recently announced that he will be leaving SABC 1 magazine show, Real Goboza. Joe had a long seven year tenure and was known as the face of the show, since he began with it in 2010.
