Nadia Jaftha and Xavier Haupt, or ‘Xadia’, have thousands of South Africans enthralled with their relationship on social media.
 
Brand influencer and content creator, Nadia, made a gradual progression into the public eye. However, influencer and socialite, Xavier, was thrust into the limelight after becoming a Love Island SA finalist.
 
“I was never in the media space. I played rugby most of my life. My life was my life, it was very private,” says Xavier. “But then as I went on the show, and then after that, it just boomed and became very public. I didn’t ease myself in, I just jumped on.”
 
The couple knew of each other before meeting recently in Sea Point after Xavier saw Nadia run across the street. Despite the 7-year age gap, they have been inseparable since.
 
Nadia and Xavier have joint TikTok and YouTube accounts which have both blown up since they were started. The YouTube channel was a spur of the moment decision. After a viewer suggested it, they filmed the first video at 2am and uploaded it!
 
Nadia believes that you are the 5 people you surround yourself with. “Me and my friendship groups – I’m surrounded by strong individuals who are always wanting to do more and be more. That inspires me,” she says.
 
“I was brought up in a way that I believe that nothing that is meant for me is not going to come to me. So I always support other people because that’s just what I do. I don’t think that me supporting someone else is going to be a detriment to my own success,” Nadia explains.
 
“Same as with Xavier, he was his own person before he met me. And we just help each other grow,” she adds.
