Chef and Cookbook Author
With summer around the corner, it’s all about summer dining entertainment in the loft as Chef and Cookbook Author, Mogau Seshoene, better known as “The Lazy Makoti” joins us in the kitchen for a delicious masterclass.
Mogau is a trained chef and award winning cookbook author. In 2014, she decided to leave the corporate world and focus on her love for food. As a result, she founded The Lazy Makoti that year as a lesson for a friend, bride-to-be who was afraid of being labelled “The Lazy Makoti” or lazy daughter-in-law because she didn’t know how cook.
Through The Lazy Makoti, Mogau shares her passion for food with people through her live interactive cooking lessons and her widely followed social media platforms. In addition, she hosted a season of a TV show where demonstrated easy and healthy ways to prepare African and South African cuisine.
Mogau has a diploma in Culinary Arts from the Chefs Training and Innovation Academy in Centurion and has also completed the industry training under Chef Werner at The Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg.
She is also a cookbook author and her first cookbook, ‘The Lazy Makoti’s Guide to the Kitchen’, is a local bestseller that went on to win numerous awards, including the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award.
Now she’s back three years later to extend her winning formula with her new cookbook, ‘Hosting with the Lazy Makoti – A Celebration of Food’.
