Diamond Specialist and Avid Baker
We welcome back Diamond Specialist and Avid Baker, Michaela Tsuen, as she chats to us about her baking journey, how competing on a professional level has made her the baker she is today and what it takes to be a diamond specialist, before she gives us a delicious baking masterclass.
Michaela’s love for baking started at the tender age of four when she would often help her aunt bake in the kitchen. At first, she would cut and decorate cookies but overtime, she became more and more involved in the baking process as she grew up.
Soon, her love for baking turned into a passion and she decided to pursue a career in the culinary world. Michaela went on to compete in a popular baking show, where she placed second.
Since then, she has made a name for herself as an avid baker and often appears on our sister show, The Expresso Morning Show.
In addition to being an excellent baker, Michaela is also a diamond specialist and is the head of jewellery manufacturing and diamond procurement at Charles Greig.
Before entering the baking and diamond world, Michaela was a professional dancer and holds a Bachelors of Music degree specialising in Dance from the University of Cape Town.
