Melene Rossouw
Founding director: Women Lead Movement
Activist and Lawyer Melene Rossouw joins us in the loft to chat about legal aspects regarding gender-based violence (GBV).
Melene has over 12 years’ experience within the legal, governmental and nongovernmental spheres. After completing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)from the University of the Western Cape, Melene went on to do a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Public and Constitutional Law, with specific focus on Human Rights.
Melene is passionate about community development and is an activist for gender and human rights. As a result, she co-founded Women Lead Movement in 2017. Women Lead Movement is a non-profit organisation that promotes gender equality and active citizenry.
As a result of her work in gender and human rights, Melene has served as a contributor for the Future Africa Forum in the area of Governance and Human Rights in Africa. She was also selected as a spokeswoman for the Global Campaign on Gender Equality.
