A diamond in the rough – Martins was established by Firmino Martins in 1970, formerly known as “Steurhof café”,a local Convenience store. The business successor, John Martins followed in his father’s footsteps. He decided to continue his father’s legacy by opening a bakery division in 1983. John left his day job as manager of the Bank of Lisbonto follow his passion and now works with his wife Teresa.
The European-style bakery brings to mind a contemporary deli and coffee shop that is filled with the fresh aroma of baked goods to entice the senses. Martins does was it does best-bakes non-commercial, home made breads with no preservatives and using traditional techniques such as their Sourdough.
