Marisa Drummond

Marisa Drummond is a South African actress and director best known for her role as gold digging superbitch Kimberly Lewis in the SABC3 soapie Isidingo.

She is also known for her role as Alexa, a university professor who used her influence to recruit students to join her doomsday cult, in the kykNET soap opera Binneland, in 2013. For this role she won the inaugural Royalty Soapie Award for Outstanding Female Villain, in 2014.

Marisa was born and raised in Bloemfontein and received a BA Drama and Theatre Arts degree from the University of the Free State, before moving to Johannesburg to pursue her career.
Her first major starring role in television was playing the role of Ester, a dance instructor at Marthur Curry dance school who dreams about a life on stage, on the kykNET sitcom Hester & Ester Bester. The series, in which she was credited by her maiden name as Marisa Bosman, ran for 52 episodes in 2010.

Other television series she has acted in include the kykNET soapie Villa Rosa and the SABC2 drama series Geraamtes in die Kas. She was also the featured guest in an episode of the SABC2 travel series Mooiloop!, in 2013 and has appeared on such shows as Begeertes, Dof en Dilly Poppie, Sterlopers and more.

Marisa has acted in numerous theatre productions including The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof and Deon Opperman's Ons vir Jou. She also appeared in the Broadway production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
In 2016 she was one of the original directors on Getroud met Rugby: Die Sepie (Married to Rugby: The Soapie), a opera based on the feature film and later drama series Gegroud met Rugby by Deon Opperman, which is set amongst a rugby-playing community.
In April 2016 she began starring in the Deon Opperman conspiracy thriller series Fluiters (Whistleblowers).
