Majozi is proving that authentic passion can take you from local stages to international spotlights. He chats to Zuraida about his musical journey, his upcoming international shows, and what it means to be a proudly African artist on Afternoon Express.

His new album ‘A Great Exchange’ is a deeply personal project. “The beauty of creating art is a lot of it is personal. You know especially when you are coming from a place of vulnerability.”

The Durban-born artist isn't just sharing his music with South Africa, he's taking it global.  He's set to perform at the Canadian Music Week in June, and headline his first-ever London show in July. “These trips are super expensive,” he laughs, “but I’m just grateful.”

Speaking about his African identity, Majozi says, “We’ve got something special back home. A vibe, a rhythm, that other countries just don't have.” He sees this unique energy as Africa’s gift to the world.

So, what does it mean to be African? Africa is a feeling. It’s a sentiment that resonates deeply, a reminder of the continent’s powerful and enduring cultural influence.

We can't wait to see Majozi take the stage and share his music with the world. With his infectious energy, deep talent, and unwavering pride in his heritage, Majozi is sure to continue his meteoric rise. Keep an eye out for him – he might just be bringing that special African vibe to a city near you!
