We kick off the week by having actress, television presenter and singer, Lerato Mvelase, join us in studio. She has been in the industry for a while and became a breakout star for her starring role in the SABC1 drama series ‘Home Affairs,’ airing from 2005 – 2009.

She is also an accomplished stage actress, doing many stage plays, for years during her schooling years, before she started getting television roles.The Soweto born actress studied and received a degree in Drama, at Wits University in 2002, later on that year she would become a presenter for CCM1.

She would then go on to make her on screen acting debut in 2003, on the e.tv soapie ‘Backstage.’ Lerato has had many acting roles that she has excelled at over the years, such as in the SABC2 sitcom ‘Home Sweet Home’, Mzanzi Magaic’s ‘The Road’ and ‘Saints & Sinners,’ and also in SABC1 mini-series ‘Shreds & Dreams’ and ‘Soul City’, just to name a few.

The actress now sets her sights into conquering the music scene, with the recent release of her House music vocal track, “Themba Lam.” She has described her sound as afro-soul, but wanted her first single to be house, to display her versatility.
Last Year she was also all over headlines when she revealed that she had answered her ancestoral calling to becoming a Sangoma.
