Johan Badenhorst
Producer and Director
We are joined by acclaimed South African writer, Johan Badenhorst for our Father’s Day Special.
Johan has made a significant name for himself in the South African media industry. After completing his studies at the University of Pretoria, Johan went on to work for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) before joining Scholtz Films where he produced numerous TV programs.
Today, Johan is the Producer and Director of Voetspore, a travel documentary series. He is also the Voetspore Team Leader. This is his 15th Voetspore adventure since 2000. He has covered more than 250 000 kilometres and has visited 40 countries in Africa.
In addition to his TV production, Johan has had multiple publications including “In the footsteps of the greats” and “From the Cape to Kilimanjaro”.
He joins us in the loft alongside his children, Nina and Streicher, as they cook up meals that are perfect for Father’s Day!
At just 9 years old, Streicher embarked on his first Voetspore journey and continued traveling with the team until the age of 16 when school obligations and later university studies prevented him from joining the expedition. Now, Streicher is primarily responsible for capturing a different point of view through the action cameras and for updating the social media pages.
Like her brother, Nina realised her passion for people and nature, and joined Voetspore Safaris in 2018. She organises tours and also acts as host, cook and guide on self-drive, guided tours in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Angola. As the first full-time female member of the team, Nina become one of the most popular.
Stay tuned as we catch up with the lovely family, have a delicious cocoa rating, cook up phenomenal food before we end off with a coffee tasting and delicious coffee cake.
