Life’s better when you’re baking and our favourite Jay Miller whisks it up in the kitchen on our second part of this week’s Baking Masterclass. 

A self-taught home baker, Jay graduated with a degree in Urban Design from the University of the Witwatersrand.

His passion for baking was fostered at an early age, while watching his mother, grandmother and aunts create koesisters and the like in the kitchen. 

In 2016, Jay debuted his business crafting celebration cakes for all those special occasions and soon went on to start Jaybagels which has grown into a full-time business. The cook took his time perfecting recipes, learning new techniques and developing his skills to become the skilled baker he is today.

The rising star took his talents to the screen as a contestant on the Tastemaster SA Season 2, where he wowed judges and audiences alike with his cooking chops. And now, he has joined the Afternoon Express team and is here to set the kitchen alight - taste-wise that is.
