We’re getting summer dining entertainment tips from the best as Internationally Renowned Chef, Cookbook Author and Culinary School Founder, Jackie Cameron, joins us is in the kitchen to help us whip up some delicious meals.
Born and raised in the Midlands, Jackie’s heart has always been in KwaZulu Natal. After graduating from the Christina Martin School of Food and Wine in 2001, Jackie went on to work at Mount Grace Country House and Spa. Under her guidance, the Hartford House restaurant achieved national Top 10 status four times and made number five restaurant in the country in 2013.
Throughout her career, Jackie has won numerous awards and has made a name for herself in TV. She was voted by South African Tourism as one of the Top 10 Young South African Chefs. She was also named one of Africa’s top 100 inspiring and aspiring leaders and has been labelled a ‘trailblazer’ in the culinary industry.
Her cookbook “Jackie Cameron Cooks at Home” hit the shelves in 2013. Two months after its release, it was recognised as the second highest cookbook sold in South Africa by Exclusive Books. At the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards it won Best Woman Chef Book in South Africa.
Three years later, she launched her second book “Baking with Jackie Cameron” that sold out at the launch! In 2017, the book was judged national winner in the pastry category and went on to achieve third place in the world.
In 2015, Jackie fulfilled her dream of tutoring inspiring chefs by opening up the
Jackie Cameron School of Food and Wine. The school offers an 18 month and three-year intensive, nationally and internationally recognised course in food and wine.
