Dr Reid is a specialist physician who practices in the field of infectious diseases and HIV medicine. He currently practices from Netcare Kuils River.

Dr Reid is involved with training of medical students, doctors, nurses and specialists in both the private and public sectors and is on numerous antibiotic advisory boards for various pharmaceutical companies.
He has a deep interest in antibiotic stewardship, infectious disease care and rural medicine.
