Sleep Expert Dr Dale Rae discusses the benefits of a good night’s rest and why it is important for your health.
Dr Dale Rae is currently the Senior Researcher in the Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (ESSM) at the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD in Physiology specializing in Exercise Science from the University of Cape Town.
Her research focuses on sleep and circadian rhythms and she has a specific interest in how sleep is associated with health, diseases and obesity. Dr Dale Rae also has an interest in the relationship between sleep, the body clock, athletic and work-place performance.
Today, she will be touching on the challenges people experience when it comes to their sleep, how dealing with stress and anxiety affects sleep, what is considered a good night’s rest, and the role sleep has in maintaining good health and a health immune system. She will also be giving some tips on how to get a good night’s rest.
