
Denise Zimba
Multi-talented actress, singer and presenter Denise Zimba, joins of for this week’s Cook-A-Long. She began in the industry as part of the dancing and singing group Fly Chix, a four woman group which was similar to the Pussy Cat Dolls.
She however only became a household name, as the wild and crazy presenter on V-entertainment. She was also popularly for her role as the crazy Mary, on Generations: The Legacy, which wasn’t far off from her media persona but it put her acting chops to the test. Denise was bit by the entertainment bug at a young when she was a catalogue model at the age of 6 years old. She is Tshwane University of Technology graduate with a diploma in Musical Theatre, which has now helped her become the great presenter and actress that she is today.
She never lost that theatre background though as she has performed in hit productions such as Rent, Urinetown, Alladin, Spelling Bee, and she has also performed with the Varga Girls. Before her big break, Denise had toured around Africa with the band Jozi, as dancer and backing vocalist.
"The biggest misconception about me is that people can't take me serious because I'm a funny girl. I do crazy things because I stand for female empowerment.," Denise has said.
