Danielle Moosajie, on strengthening families.
It's Mommy Monday and today we chat to social worker Danielle Moosajie, who’ll be sharing valuable insight on strengthening families.
As the Director of Arise, Danielle has much experience on this topic as a key focus at the organisation is to offer Family Strengthening Services aimed to preserve, strengthen and support families in resource-poor communities.
In order to help build resiliency so that children and their families can overcome adversities and reach their full potential.
Based in Heideveld on the Cape Flats, they support surrounding communities that face many challenges ranging from poverty, lack of employment, poor quality education, drug and alcohol addiction, violence and gangsterism.
They offer professionally taught and facilitated therapeutic and support groups for both children and adults to build resilience to overcome the adversities they face.
Services offered at their Family Centre includes:
- Individual consultations with a concerned family member
- Family group meetings
- Open parent support
- Family Strengthening Services
- Various programmes in schools
- Home visits
