CEO Designate: CapeBPO and Director of Governance: Futur-Ed

We chat to Clayton Williams from CapeBPO about the training the NPC provides and the employment opportunities available for youth. FuturEd's Jehad Kasu joins the conversation to discuss their call centre skills training and the possible opportunities resulting from the training.

CapeBPO is the Western Cape’s strategic business partner. CapeBPO is in charge of the growth and development of the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) industry in the Western Cape. The company attracts overseas companies to the City of Cape Town area and facilitates the training of young professionals in the Western Cape area.

The BPO/Call Centre Academy was established in order to provide skills and training for professions wanting to enter the BPO sector. Every year, 60 000 graduates are trained across South Africa.

Last year, CapeBPO partnered with Futur-Ed for a job readiness and recruitment programme.

Futur-Ed provides E-learning centres for youth who are taking school subjects within the STEM field and are within the Top-10 percentile of their grade. The centres are situated in Athlone and the surrounding areas. The programme was designed in order to help learners with potential achieve their potential so that they will be eligible for scholarships and bursaries.
