Chef Pitso Chauke
Owner of Pitso’s Kitchen
It’s all about finance-friendly family feasting as Chef Pitso Chauke helps us whip up some delicious meals for 6 under R200.
Chef Pitso Chauke is an ex police officer, turned self-taugh chef and restaurateur from Malamulele, Limpopo.
Pitso moved to Cape Town and took up work as a police officer however, there was a desire for something else. He eventually decided to hand up his bulletproof vest for an apron and today, he is the proud owner of Pitso’s Kitchen.
Pitso’s Kitchen an institution of South African food in Cape Town. Located at Makers Landing at the Waterfront and a stall at The Old Biscuit Mill, Pitso’s Kitchen specialises in traditional South African cuisine with meals ranging from tripe to mogodu, to steamed bread and samp and a South African favourite – chicken feet.
This week, Chef Pitso Chauke joins us as we make Morogo, Chicken and Pap, followed by Pitso’s Beef Stew and Samp, before we end off our savoury meals with Chicken Feet and Butternut.
Stay tuned as we also whip up Vanilla and Cinnamon Custard Dumplings and Apricot Malva Pudding.
