Brian Temba
Growing up in the north of Pretoria, Brian believed the chances of becoming a singer were slim to nothing, as the kind of environment surrounding him was one filled with crime and drugs. Although he was surrounded by such things, Brian says that life never interested him, as his dream was to sing and act as a profession.
Brian Temba began his music career as a backing singer for different artists including Hugh Masekela, Jonathan Butler, and Vicky Vilakazi. He was part of trailblazing groups such as Joyous Celebration, Family Factory and IV U (For You).
Brian released his debut album, titled “Something Better “ in 2009 and was produced by one of UK’s well-known producer, Steve Anthony Campbell formerly of Blacksmith Entertainment. His album featured a wide range of songs that pushes the sonic envelope while staying true to the game. In 2010, Brian won the Best R&B SAMA award for this album as well as a Channel O nomination for Best Newcomer and Best Music Video.
Years later, he has collaborated with local and international artists as well as performed in massive award-winning stage productions such as "The Lion King", which was staged on the West End Stage - Lyceum Theatre in the UK for 5 years.
