Bheki Kunene

We chat to Bheki Kunene, entrepreneur and CEO of Mind Trix, a creative agency based in Gugulethu.

From humble beginnings, after surviving a tough upbringing in the township of Gugulethu, he started a small creative agency in his own bedroom at the tender age of 21, with only R600 to his name. Now his company has grown to international status, with clients across 5 continents. He was recently featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 promising African entrepreneurs and has consistently won business awards both locally and internationally. Joining us on the couch is the young and inspiring CEO of Mind Trix Media, Bheki Kunene.

Kunene’s childhood was much like that of so many other youths from the Cape township of Gugulethu. He earned the title of ‘trouble-maker’ when as a teenager, in a fit of rage, he took a hammer to his teacher, resulting in his expulsion from that and all other government schools.
