Berita Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Berita goes by her mother’s name in honour of the magnificent woman who raised her to be the human she is today.
Joining us for Cook-Along Tuesday today is award winning Afrosoul singer-songwriter, guitarist and music producer, Berita. She will be chatting to Pali in the kitchen and also perform one of her new singles, ‘Jikizinto’.
Her first debut album, Thandolwethu was followed up with the release of three acclaimed albums, earning platinum sales and multiple coveted awards. She’s also won the coveted Metro FM Music Award for Best African Pop Album, Songwriter of the Year Award, Zimbabwe Achievers Award for Music Artist of the Year, and has had the pleasure of collaborating with world-renowned artists such as iconic House Dj Oskido, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Grammy award-winning Hugh Masekele and many more.
When Berita’s not creating music or performing she fulfils her aspirations through social justice advocacy where she’s involved in a string of Corporate Social Investment initiatives relating to the empowerment and education of women across the continent.
