Anemike Swart

Anemike Swart joins us in the loft, she was diagnosed with endometriosis which complicated her pregnancy. She was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis in 2013, causing her to have fertility issues which resulted in her having to conceive through artificial insemination.

After her diagnoses she immediately sought out fertility treatment as she had plans of starting a family right away. She managed to fall pregnant on her second attempt with artificial insemination, which seemed to have been a blessing as artificial insemination only has a success rate of 12-20%.

Endometriosis affects the ovaries and fallopian tubes which can cause infertility in women. After the successful pregnancy of her daughter, Anemike and her husband attempted the to have another child, and this time they were blessed with twins. She however experienced difficulties with one of the twins, as it stopped growing after 28 weeks, causing the babies to be delivered then, the first one being 1.3kg and the second being 590g. Now both the twins are healthy and growing.
