World Samosa Day with Fayruza Abrahams

We are more than happy to jump on the World Samosa Day trend! Pali, Tumi and Jay are joined by Cape-Malay Chef and Experience Host Fayruza Abrahams, who is full of tips and tricks when it comes to Cape-Malay food – especially samosas!
 
The first recipe is a Baked Spinach & Feta Samosa with a Clover Tzatziki Dip. You can also fill these pastries with just about anything, for example chicken, mince or vegetables. Top tip: you can fill and fold your samosas and freeze them for up to 3 months.
 
Next up, we have Potato & Mixed Veg Samosas. We use Golden Cloud Cake flour for this samosa dough, which makes the process quick and easy. Note: when adding the potatoes, it is important to lightly break them apart and not to mash them. This will give you a more interesting texture.
 
The next recipe is not only the perfect way to celebrate World Samosa Day, but Heritage Month as well! Introducing our Clover Boerewors Samosas. We’re using samosa pastry but you can also use phyllo pastry. For a healthier option, you could also use puff pastry and bake in the oven instead of deep frying.
 
Our Snoek Samosa Pie is inspired by the snoek samosa that is found on the West Coast. We used snoek but you can also use any tinned fish, such as middle cut or pilchards.
 
Last but not least, we bring you a sweet treat: Milk Tart Samosas! Pro tip: when making the filling, ensure you work quickly to avoid the mixture curdling.
