Pride Month with Maxine Wild

Happy Pride Month, fam! Do you know the history behind the celebration? All over the world people choose to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride during the month of June because of the famous Stonewall Riots in New York that took place in June 1969.

We have the fabulous Drag Performer and Entertainer, Maxine Wild, on the show today. She is the current Miss Gay Western Cape, and has received the Performer of the Year award by the Pride Icon Awards.

It will be no surprise that today’s menu is a colourful lineup! We start off with Mini Glazed Doughnuts that are not only beautiful, but also delicious. Have fun in the kitchen and get creative while decorating.

Next up we have a hearty Chicken and Rice Bake. This dish is super flavourful and has the added bonus of being one-pot wonder.

Fall in love with our Pride Rainbow Cake. This stunning creation tastes even better than it looks! Top tips: make sure to beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy to achieve a soft and moist sponge. Using the ‘damming’ method when assembling the layers will ensure that the filling doesn’t spill out of the cake when stacking.

Our Pride Inspired Milkshakes will bring all the boys and girls to the yard. Feel free to use any ice cream of your choice. Decorate your milkshakes using your favourite snacks and sweets.
