Episode 126 • 28 October 2015
The inspirational Abegail Ntleko joins us in the loft as well as cast members from the acclaimed film 'Dis Ek, Anna'.
On this mid-week edition of Afternoon Express we're joined by one of the most inspiring women in South Africa, Sister Abegail Ntleko. She has adopted more than 30 children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in her time and is about to release her memoirs. We hear about her moving journey as well as her meeting with the Dalai Lama.
We’re also tackling a very serious issue today, child abuse. What are the signs of child abuse? How do those who have experienced child abuse work through the emotional and physical trauma? We’re joined by a clinical psychologist to discuss the issue a bit later in the show.
We also chat to the stars of 'Dis ek, Anna' Morne Visser & Izel Bezuidenhout about their new movie making waves nationally and internationally. 'Dis Ek, Anna' exposes the issue of child abuse and has received an immense amount of critical acclaim.
In the kitchen, we get cooking with Anda Dlepu from Woolies and we are making quite a mouthful of a dish today. Brace yourself for this: Maple and mustard chicken wings with crunchy Asian slaw salad, sweetcorn with chipotle butter and lime. Rosemary and garlic roasted root vegetables.
